Privacy Policy for Sutta 423

Overview

Sutta 423 is designed to collect as little data as possible while still supporting core product features such as daily reading progress, account sync, reminders, purchases, product analytics, and measurement of our own advertising. We do not sell personal data, display third-party ads, or permit cross-app tracking.

What We Collect

Device Identifier

The app generates a random device identifier stored locally on your device. We use it to support reading progress, app state, and analytics. By itself, this identifier is not intended to directly identify you.

Reading Progress and App State

• Your current day and reading progress
• Whether you have completed onboarding
• Saved verses and related app preferences
• Reminder settings, if you enable reminders

Account Information

Sutta 423 requires an account. You sign in with Apple or Google, and we store the account information returned by that provider, such as your authentication provider, email address, and display name, if provided.

Purchase and Subscription Information

If you make a purchase, Apple processes the transaction. We may store subscription state needed to unlock supporter features and understand which support tier is active.

Product Analytics

We collect limited analytics about how the app and website are used so we can improve the product. This may include app opens and app version information, screen and feature usage, onboarding, reminder, account, and supporter flow events, reading progress and verse interaction events, and website visits and engagement events.

Advertising Measurement

We use Google Analytics for Firebase, Google Ads conversion measurement, and Meta App Events to understand whether an ad led to an app install, account connection, checkout, or purchase. Meta App Events may receive app launch, install, and App Store purchase events; advertising-identifier collection is disabled. For signed-in users who provide an email address, the app may use Google's on-device conversion measurement. This comparison happens on the device; the email address is not sent to Google for this purpose. We do not use advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking.

Data Storage and Retention

Operational data and analytics may be stored by us and our service providers for as long as needed to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the product. Some data may remain in backups or logs for a limited period. You may request deletion of account-linked data by contacting us.

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the last updated date on this page.

Data Deletion

To request deletion of account-linked data, email privacy@sutta423.com from the email address associated with your account. Include “Sutta 423 Data Deletion Request” in the subject. We will verify the request, delete account-linked data from active systems, and confirm completion. Limited records may remain temporarily in backups or where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
